Our Doctors
Sander S. Dorfzaun, O.D.
Dr. Dorfzaun attended the University of Michigan, where he earned his Bachelor of Science. He then furthered his studies at the Illinois College of Optometry, obtaining his Doctor of Optometry degree in 1973.
In 1974, he made the move from Chicago to the Atlanta area. On Friday, February 13th, 1976, Dr. Dorfzaun opened the doors to his own private practice, Dorfzaun Eye Group. For nearly fifty years he has been serving Metro Atlanta. Dr. Dorfzaun’s expertise extends beyond clinical practice; he has actively contributed to the field of optometry through contact lens research, design, and clinical trials.
His commitment to education is evident as he has lead lectures, presented at conferences, and published numerous scientific articles. Additionally, his practice has become a valuable learning ground for many student externs from the Southern College of Optometry, who come to gain practical experience under his guidance. He is also a current member of both the American Optometric Association and the Georgia Optometric Association.
Michael Lam, O.D.
Dr. Lam attended the University of Tennessee where he studied microbiology before pursuing a career in eye care. He received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern College of Optometry in 2015. Dr. Lam is also residency trained by the Woolfson Eye Institute of Atlanta where he spent a year focusing on the management of
ocular disease and refractive surgery. During optometry school,
Dr. Lam spent part of his final year of training with Dorfzaun Eye Group and has now returned to provide full-scope optometric services to our patients. He is also a member of the American and Georgia Optometric Associations. He enjoys giving back to the community by serving in vision screenings with the Special Olympics, local schools, and humanitarian trips abroad.
